What is Autogas?
Autogas is the common name for using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as fuel for on-road vehicles. Propane as autogas is the third most popular automotive fuel in the world - powering approximately 16 million vehicles worldwide.  In the United States, autogas powers school buses, shuttle buses, trucks, vans, and taxis in nearly every state.  It also powers off-road equipment such as commercial lawnmowers, agricultural equipment, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.

Why Autogas?
Autogas is quickly becoming the fuel of choice for fleet and transportation managers as it saves money, increases our security, and helps the environment.  With the volatility of gasoline and diesel pricing, more and more fleet managers, business owners, and consumers are turning to autogas because of its more stable pricing.  As companies become

American Security
More than 90 percent of the autogas used in the United States is processed and refined domestically.
An additional 7 percent is imported from Canada.

Safe
Autogas is considered to be as safe as any conventional
automotive fuel.  Used in motor vehicles for almost 100 years, autogas meets the same standards for safety as conventionally fueled vehicles.  Autogas fuel tanks are 20 times more puncture resistant, and can
withstand far more pressure than typical gasoline tanks.

Go Green with Autogas
With autogas there is a significant reduction in
hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, carbon dioxide, and greenhouse gas emissions when compared with regular gasoline or diesel.  Per pound of fuel consumed, autogas emits less than half as much carbon dioxide as coal and almost no sulfur dioxide.
